Human Rights House Yerevan is committed to a safe, accessible, and common space for activists, civil society organisations, movements, civic initiatives, and human rights defenders, who are often targeted for the work they do.
Our History
Human Rights Huse Network Membership
“Human Rights House Yerevan” (hereinafter, HRH Yerevan) currently unites 6 different organizations working in the field of human rights protection in Armenia. HRH Yerevan mainly works in the sphere of protection of human rights defenders. Human Rights House Yerevan became a member of Human Rights House Network in 2012.
Registration in Armenia
Human Rights House Yerevan is registered in Armenia in 2014. It also serves as a platform for different civil society organizations, movements and civic initiatives to join efforts in protection of human rights in Armenia. HRH Yerevan is also a member the South Caucasus Network of Human Rights Defenders.
Organizations
PINK
PINK Armenia was established in Armenia, in 2007. The organisation aims to create a safe space for LGBT people by promoting legal, psychological, social protection and well-being.
Real World Real People
The mission of Real World Real People NGO, established in 2003 in Armenia, is increasing the quality of life of people living with HIV and their families.
Women’s Resource Center
The Women's Resource Center (WRC) is the first resource center for young women in post-Soviet Armenia, established in 2003. WRC leads a collective struggle to challenge and transform patriarchal systems in Armenia. Through its activities, the NGO seeks behavioral and normative change in society, influencing state policy, socio-cultural, and legislative fields.
Socioscope
Socioscope was founded in 2008 by three women social researchers with the aim of supporting civil society organizations engaged in human rights promotion by providing research-based knowledge.Socioscope’s current research focuses on Armenian civic movements, challenges of civil society, human rights, media discourse, gender and LGBT issues. It also examines dominant collective narratives related to power, sexuality, culture, nation, and issues of war, peace, and the future.
Armenian PEN center
Armenian PEN center is official member of PEN International – a worldwide association of writers, founded in London in 1921 to promote friendship and intellectual co-operation among writers everywhere; to emphasize the role of literature in the development of mutual understanding and world culture; to fight for freedom of expression; and to act as a powerful voice on behalf of writers harassed, imprisoned and sometimes killed for their views.
Sexual Assault Crisis Center
The Sexual Assault Crisis Center was founded and has been operating in the Republic of Armenia since 2008. The Sexual Assault Crisis Center is an organization guided by feminist principles, with its activities aimed at supporting and protecting the rights of victims of sexualized violence.

Human Rights House Yerevan aims to:
To unite efforts of member non-governmental organisations and to promote cooperation amongst non-governmental organisations, as well as amongst other human rights and fundamental freedoms protection and promotion non-profit organisations operating in Armenia.
HRH Yerevan will be an independent structure aiming to provide a common space and auxiliary facilities to human rights NGO’s operating in Armenia, particularly: to let them use the library of the Union, to provide them rooms for seminars and conferences, to provide a space envisaged for meetings and legal consultancy services.
Therefore, the objective of HRH Yerevan is to encourage and to alleviate the people’s access to human rights organisations and to promote the visibility of the work done in the field of human rights and the protection of individuals and organisations engaged in human rights protection activities.
